Diesel locomotive
A diesel locomotive is a type of locomotive that is powered by a diesel engine. It is used to pull or push trains on railway tracks. These locomotives use diesel fuel to power an internal combustion engine which drives an electric generator, producing electricity that powers electric motors which drive the train’s wheels. Diesel locomotives are more fuel efficient and have more torque than steam locomotives, which were previously used to power trains.
