Everyone is familiar with the oil filter. As a wearing part on the truck, it will be replaced every time the oil is changed. Is it just adding oil and not changing the filter?
Before I tell you the principle of the oil filter, I will give you a brief introduction to the pollutants in the oil, so that drivers and friends can better understand the function of the oil filter and the correct installation steps.
Typical engine oil pollution is divided into the following categories
1. Organic pollutants (commonly known as “oil sludge”):
Mainly from unsealed, unburned hydrocarbons, soot, moisture and dye dilution, etc., accounting for 75% of the pollutants in the oil filter.
2. Inorganic pollutants (dust):
Mainly from dirt and worn material products, etc., accounting for 25% of oil filter pollutants.
3. Harmful acidic substances:
Mainly due to by-products, chemical consumption of oil products, etc., accounting for very few pollutants in the oil filter.
Through the understanding of oil contamination, let us prescribe the right medicine to see how the filter structure filters these pollutants. At present, the most widely used oil filter structure mainly includes filter paper, rubber sealed loop, check valve, overflow valve, etc.
The correct installation steps of the oil filter:
Step 1: Drain the waste engine oil
First drain the waste oil in the oil tank, place the old oil container under the oil pan, open the oil drain bolt, and drain the waste oil. When draining the oil, try to allow the oil to drip for a while to ensure that the waste oil is drained cleanly.
Step 2: Remove the old oil filter element
Move the old oil container under the filter and remove the old filter element. Be careful not to contaminate the inside of the machine with waste oil.
Step 3: Add new oil to the oil tank
Finally, fill the oil tank with new oil, and if necessary, use a funnel to prevent pouring the oil outside the engine. After filling, check the lower part of the engine again for leaks.
Step 4: Install the new oil filter element
Check the oil outlet at the installation position of the oil filter element, and clean the dirt and residual waste oil on it. Before installation, put a sealing ring on the oil outlet, and then apply a little oil. Then slowly screw on the new filter. Don’t screw the filter too tightly. Generally, after tightening it by hand, you can use a wrench to tighten it by 3/4 turns. A small oil filter element may seem inconspicuous, but it has an irreplaceable position in construction machinery. Machinery cannot do without oil, just like the human body cannot do without healthy blood. Once the human body loses too much blood or the blood changes qualitatively, life will be seriously threatened. The same is true for the machine. If the oil in the engine is not filtered by the filter element and directly enters the lubricating oil circuit, the sundries contained in the oil will be brought into the friction surface of the metal, which will Accelerates the wear of parts and reduces engine life. Although it is extremely simple to replace the oil filter element, the correct operation method can prolong the service life of the machine and Gallop far away!
